Shirah Dedman is a storyteller, filmmaker, community educator, city councilmember, and mom who believes in the power of stories to bring people together.
From her earlier work in film and community education to founding Cowry & Clay, a community engagement consulting boutique, her work has always centered on connection, belonging, and helping people feel more connected to the places they call home.
She is also the author of All Around the Sound: A Ferry Song, inspired by her love for the Puget Sound and her hope that every child grows up feeling they belong.
